The Best Part of Waking Up…

I’m a morning person. I can’t help it, I just am. Sure, I love sleeping in on a nice Saturday morning (although I usually can’t sleep in past 9am) but I’m not too bothered by waking up early either.

For the past 4 years, I have perfectly sculpted my morning scheduele nearly down to the T. Part of that is because I like order and I’m somewhat OCD, but really, it’s because I love the morningtime. Probably what I love most about it is the uncertainty of what the rest of the day has to offer. When you wake up in the morning, you don’t really know how your day is going to go. Sure, you could wake up and later find out something negative that may ruin your day, but when you wake up each morning you know that it’s a new day and it’s your responsibility to make it a great one. That’s what I love about morningtime.

So for the past 4 years, I have woken up at 5:45am. Really though, I wake up at 5:42 because my alarm clock is fast and I’ve never changed it. This is partly because I’m lazy, but it is also because that gives me exactly 3 min to wake up. I turn on WTHR Morning news and scroll through texts or Twitter. I won’t bore you with my morning regimend, but from what I’ve already said,  you can probably already tell that I have things planned out pretty well.

I’m such a morning person that I haven’t ever even used my snooze button. I’ve never slept in all day either. Or even overslept and been late to school or nearly late. I like order and I like the mornings, so I really don’t have those problems.

Nevertheless, part of the reason I love the morning is because I love order. But the other reason is what I said earlier, I love the uncertainty of what the day holds. So, I really believe that anyone can be a morning person, all you have to do is make yourself a morning person. Wake up when you’re supposed to, stay optimistic, and never, EVER hit your snooze button…
